The history of Fastin

Fastin diet pill is the brand name of phentermine produced by King Pharmaceuticals for SmithKline Beecham. A marijuana joint might seem an odd starting point in the search for weight-loss secrets.

1.Eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods. You need more than 40 different nutrients for good health, and no single food supplies them all.  Laxatives

Pills or liquid, herbal or otherwise, laxative abuse is a common form of “weight control” in people suffering with Eating Disorders. The use of laxatives as a way to lose or control weight is not only dangerous, but irrational. The actual purpose of taking a laxative is to stimulate the large bowel to empty, which occurs only after the food and it’s calories for energy have been absorbed through the small intestines. Essentially, a person taking laxatives to control weight is only going to cause their body to lose fluid, which can potentionally be followed by periods of water retention and an appearance of bloating (causing the sufferer to want to lose more weight and ingest more laxatives). The reason people suffering from eating disorders seem to lose weight while taking laxatives is because in most cases they are increasingly watching calorie intake and restricting food consumption, inducing vomiting, and/or compulsively exercising.

Continued laxative use can cause bloating, cramping, dehydration, electrolyte disturbances and imbalances, cardiac arrhythmias, irregular heart beat and heart attack, renal problems, and death.

Phenolphthalein, a popular ingredient previously found in many brands of laxatives has now been recalled by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration, United States) due to studies indicating that it has been linked to cancer.

Withdrawal symptoms can be expected in stopping the use of laxatives after a continued period of using them as a “weight loss” method. These include, abdominal cramping, mild to severe constipation, bloating, mood swings and general feelings of fatigue and “feeling sick.” In less severe cases the symptoms will usually subside in about 2 weeks, but in cases where a person have ingested handfuls or more laxatives on a regular basis, it may take longer and require medical assistance.



You can buy all types of prescription-only weight loss and diet pills. Designed to reduce severe clinical obesity, most of them are appetite suppressants, such as Phentermine, Adipex, Bontril, Didrex and Tenuate. These pills reduce appetite by acting on the nervous system to stimulate the heart. If a person (1) takes a supplement, (2) follows a calorie-controlled diet, (3) takes regular exercise, and as a result loses weight, what exactly causes this weight reduction - is it the pill, or is it the diet and the exercise? Clinical Trials of HCA

HCA, or hydroxycitric acid, is an herbal extract commonly found in weight-loss supplements. HCA supposedly reduces appetite and slows down conversion of carbohydrates into fat. But in a study published in the Nov. 11, 1998, issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers from Columbia University gave HCA herbal diet supplements (1,500 milligrams each day) to 66 overweight patients. Unfortunately, HCA failed to produce any significant weight loss.
Clinical Trials of Pyruvate

Makers claim pyruvate is a natural alternative to obesity drugs such as phentermine and fenfluramine (phen-fen), but the International Journal of Sports Nutrition calls such statements misleading. Also, in one of the few human studies of pyruvate, researchers at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center found that overweight patients who took pyruvate lost an average of 2 ounces of extra weight per week, compared with patients who took a placebo.



The Kava Herbal diet pill is a product based on Kava Kava herbs. Kava, or Piper Methysticum, is a member of the pepper family, which grows across the South Pacific. Islanders use the roots to make a milky, mild narcotic drink, which numbs the mouth and acts as a relaxant. Animal studies show that kava lactones alter neuronal excitation through direct interactions with voltage-dependent ion channels. This causes Kava’s muscle relaxant, anaesthetic, anxiolytic and anticonvulsive properties. Several isolated cases of psychotic and severe diatomic reactions following the use of Kava suggest that Kava also has psychoactive properties. However, there is no conclusive evidence that kava interferes with normal cognitive processes. Products based on Kava Kava have caused severe liver damage to more than 100 patients worldwide, and several of these cases have been fatal. Canada and other countries banned Kava-Kava in 2002. The United States’ Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has published numerous warnings concerning this substance.
Side effects: Kava Kava has caused very severe side effects like hypertention, reduced protein levels, blood cell abnormalities, muscle weakness, shortness of breath, dizziness, visual impairment and severe liver damage. Several patients who used kava products had liver failure and needed subsequent liver transplantation.
